76th Emmy Nominees are announced with 'Shogun' and 'The Bear' leading the way

The nominations for the 76th Emmy Awards are announced by Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tony Hale on July 17th, 2024. 'Shogun' and 'The Bear' series are leading the way with multiple nominations.

'The Bear' and 'Shogun' lead the nominations

"The Bear" just dominated the nominations for a comedy series with a record 23 and "Shogun" led all nominees with 25 in a phenomenal run for FX. 'The Bear' has been nominated for Best Comedy Series and Best Actor (Jeremy Allen White) in the comedy series categories again along with Best Actress for Ayo Edebiri. It won the first two categories back in January 2024 and best supporting actress last time around for Ayo.

"Shogun" went on to dominate the drama category boosted by the absence of "Succession", "The White Lotus" and "The Last of Us". Its nominations include best drama series, best actress in a drama series for Anna Sawai and Best Actor for Hiroyuki Sanada.
